As celebrants, we’re in the unique position of witnessing some of life’s most intimate and powerful moments. So when you're posting on social media, don’t just pop up a pretty photo with a couple of heart emojis and call it a day. Your audience wants more. They want to feel something. And that’s where your storytelling superpower comes in.

Rather than simply posting a static shot of the couple standing together during the ceremony or walking down the aisle, use your caption to tell a moment from the day. What made this ceremony special? Did the couple write their own vows? Was there a hilarious moment when the flower girl threw petals at the groom? Did the bride take a deep breath before walking down the aisle and whisper, “I can’t believe today is finally here”? That’s the gold - the real, human stuff that people connect with.

Use your post to describe the love, the energy, the emotion in the air. Did the groom tear up when he saw his partner? Did a grandmother share a reading? Were the guests huddled under umbrellas with grins as wide as their jackets were soaked? These snippets paint the picture, and they position you as the kind of celebrant who doesn’t just show up and read a script - you show up with heart.

Bonus tip: Always credit the photographer. They own the images after all! It also strengthens your professional relationships and widens your reach - especially if they re-share your post or tag you back. Win-win!

End your caption with a question or gentle call to action. Something like, “What’s the one moment from your wedding day you’ll never forget?” or “Would you write your own vows, or stick to the classics?” These kinds of questions invite engagement and keep the conversation going.

Your role as a celebrant is filled with magic - let your social media reflect that. People don’t hire ‘just a celebrant’, they hire someone they trust, someone they feel connected to. Let them see you in every post.
