In the lead-up to Celebrants Aotearoa Conference 2025, I thought it a good idea to focus on what I will be chatting about at conference: business growth and marketing.
In today’s celebrant world, being excellent at what you do isn’t enough - you need to showcase it. One of the most powerful tools we have at our fingertips is social media. And here’s one tip that can truly elevate your visibility and build meaningful engagement: show up as you - consistently and authentically.
People don’t just book a celebrant - they book a person. Someone they trust, connect with, and can see playing a key role in one of life’s biggest moments. So, use your platforms not just to market your services, but to build your personal brand.
Here’s how:
- Let your face be seen – share photos and videos of yourself at work (and play). From behind-the-scenes ceremony setups to snippets of your daily life, this helps potential clients feel like they know you before they even enquire.
- Use stories and reels – these bite-sized, informal formats are perfect for showcasing your personality. Whether it’s your ceremony style, your love of a great script, or even your cat crashing your Google Meets call - this is gold.
- Educate and entertain – mix tips for couples with light-hearted content, like 'Five questions to ask your potential celebrant' or 'Signs your celebrant is a total vibe'.
- Post regularly, even if it’s imperfect – consistency builds trust. You don’t need perfect filters or a huge following - you just need to show up.
Remember, when you’re visible, authentic, and consistent, the right clients will find you - and feel like you were made for their day.
