Come to the TOTS APM and join your celebrant companions as we consider how we might
incorporate aspects of tikanga Māori into our ceremonies.

Annual Planning Meeting and Workshops

Lunch will be provided – please provide dietary requirements. Register by 5pm on 21 March so we have numbers for catering purposes.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

Come along and join your celebrant companions as we consider how we might incorporate aspects of tikanga Māori into our ceremonies. Simply put, Mātauranga Māori means ‘Māori knowledge', a modern term that broadly includes traditions, values, philosophies and world views.

Vicky will lead us in our exploration of what, when and how we might include te ao Māori in our celebrant work. We will learn about ngā atua Māori, appropriate karakia for different contexts and how they could be used in openings and closings to enhance our ceremonies.

AGENDA

  • 9.30am - coffee and tea
  • 10am - Vicky’s workshop commences – and runs through to 1pm. (We can have drinks and snacks available during the workshop for people to help themselves)
  • 1pm - lunch

  • 2.15pm - Lisa Trusler, Photographer. A relaxed interactive session so please bring your specific questions.
